Chita's Taqueria
About This Spot
Stepping into Chita's Taqueria feels like slipping into a cherished neighborhood spot where the rhythms of everyday life slow just enough for a genuine meal to take center stage. Nestled along Q Street in Sacramento, this modest Mexican eatery welcomes you with a casual, unpretentious vibe—the kind where familiar faces and fresh flavors come together without fuss.
Inside, the atmosphere hums with quiet energy, a steady pace that’s neither rushed nor lingering, perfectly suited for a satisfying bite whether you’re dining solo or with friends. The staff’s warmth and attentiveness quietly underline the sense of community that this place naturally fosters, making it easy to feel at home.
The heart of Chita’s experience lies in the layers of taste and texture that reveal themselves bite after bite. Whether it’s a carefully crafted burrito or a plate heaped with vibrant sides, the food carries a sense of thoughtfulness and authenticity. You’ll notice how the chips and salsa aren't just accompaniments but essential pieces of the story here—each chip crisp and flavored with a depth that hints at care in preparation.
This is a spot where portion sizes feel generous without being overwhelming, reflecting a kind of hospitality that’s tangible and welcoming. The salsa bar offers a lively contrast—flavors that range from gentle warmth to bold heat—inviting you to explore and personalize your meal.
What resonates most is how the place holds onto simple, honest cooking paired with a relaxed setting, inviting patrons to settle into their experience rather than rush through it. It's a reminder that the joy of a local taqueria isn’t only in the food but in how it connects people to a shared moment of comfort and satisfaction.

Stellar food! The tortilla chips have a great flavor and a depth you wouldn't expect from just a chip. The rest of the offerings were excellent, very flavorful, crispy when it should be. Only ding against them was we were missing a side of salsa in our to-go order. Dropping my "service" sub-rating from 5 to 4 stars, but keeping the overall rating at 5/5!

This places deserves a 10 star alone just for the generous AMOUNT of beans and rice they gave me when I ordered through door dash. I also ordered just a burrito with rice and beans on the side and they gave THIS MUCH like wow. Food was amazing btw! Please go here ! They deserve all the love

A last minute decision and we were glad we went. My tacos were flavorful: I had a crunchy chicken taco and a soft beef taco - equally good. My friend had a taco and an enchilada and she liked both as well. My only complaint is I would like a bigger container for the salsa bar. Delicious!

Clean, friendly spot. Menu prices are very modest. Food was served fast, efficient, and by a friendly staff. Definitely worth a try, we were very happy with everything.

This place is a "hidden gem"! The food just tastes, better! I'm not a chef so I couldn't tell you the exact reason why. But a basic burrito here is just flat out better than your favorite spot. The churro flan is amazing and if you dare attempt the salsa bar... good luck! Some of those salsas are SUPER hot and flavorful.
